The Ultralight Startup by Jason L. Baptiste

I write from the local bookshop a lot, which is how I learned there is such a thing as reading too much, so I often find myself browsing through the shelves of knowledge between posts. There’s a ton of great material out there, so I thought it might be good to start sharing some of my findings here with you.

While the focus today is on a business book, I certainly plan on sharing books outside of the business arena as well, as that’s often from where the best inspiration comes.

The Ultralight Startup

Like many books in the business section, The Ultralight Startup was written by a seasoned pro … co-founder of Onswipe, Jason L. Baptiste.

What first caught my eye about this book was the incredible simple cover featuring nothing other than super-pink text and a power button.

Contents

  1. It all Starts With An Idea
  2. How to Launch Faster Than You Ever Imagined
  3. Testing Your Product in the Real World
  4. Getting Organized
  5. you Can’t Go Alone
  6. Attracting Customers
  7. Growing Your STartup
  8. How to Make Money
  9. Make Your Startups Famous
  10. From $1,000 to $1,000,000
  11. How Not to Die

Problems and Solutions

After glancing through the content, I read the first chapter and one particular section stuck out to me. Jason not only explains how it all starts with an idea, but how to shape the idea into something with the most potential … in other words, finding problems and solving them.

I’m definitely going to be reading the rest of the book this week, and encourage you to do so as well if interested.
